Creating one of a kind original art using a variety of paint pouring techniques.
I am an artist, and a retired elementary art teacher. I have lived on the East Coast in Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina for over 30 years. I appreciate art in all it’s forms, and taught my students that art is all around us and inspiration can come from anywhere.
Inspiration for me comes from water, the constant movement, changing colors, and the fleeting patterns created on the sand from the waves.
I have always felt that I expressed myself the best in acrylic paintings.
Acrylic pours were new to me until recently. The whole experience of pouring the paint directly on the canvas without using a brush has become my new obsession. I’m intrigued with the movement, the amazing color combinations, and the ability to create something totally original every time. There are multiple techniques to move the paint and even pouring the acrylic on the canvas, defining the term fluid art.
In my exploration of pours I felt one canvas would work better as a background rather than a completed piece. I decided to add a detail with a brush. Now, I have both. Some of my work is only poured paint. Other pieces are poured with a detail added using a brush.
I hope you enjoy my original acrylic paintings.
